Accessibility statement for Cloud Video Platform (CVP)

This accessibility statement applies to meet.video.justice.gov.uk/join. This is a virtual meeting room solution run for the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) for court hearings, judicial meetings and Parole Board hearings.

This website is run by Pexip. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

The Ministry of Justice have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

The MOJ know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • You might need to upload a file to provide evidence to a hearing or tribunal. If you use Dragon Naturally Speaking (speech recognition software) this might not be possible because Dragon Naturally Speaking can only upload files when using the mouse grid feature. This issue is believed to be an ongoing issue with the Dragon Naturally Speaking software and further information can be found on the following link: https://github.com/alphagov/reported-bugs/issues/35
  • You may need to share a video with audio as part of presenting evidence. The audio toggle button within the ‘Share Screen with Audio’ function does not meet the recommended contrast value of 3:1 when in both a selected and unselected state. This issue stems from browser functionality in multiple browsers which cannot be controlled by Pexip or the MOJ.

Captioning

If live captioning or captioning is required during hearings, this can be provided as a live speech-to-text service or through a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter. If you require reasonable adjustments to use CVP such as captioning, please contact the court or tribunal that arranged your hearing. If you have a notice of hearing, you can find the court and tribunal contact details there.

If you know the name of the court or tribunal, you can search for their contact details at https://www.gov.uk/find-court-tribunal.
